The Awards Ceremony of a 3rd International Film Festival Awards.Macao (IFFAM) was staged during a Macao Cultural Centre tonight entertainment around 800 guest including internationally-acclaimed film directors, film stars and attention professionals from around a world. The Film Festival screened 54 fantastic films this year, including 11 films competing for 9 awards in the Competition territory as good as 6 film entries of a New Chinese Cinema section for a Best New Chinese-language Film of a Year. All winners were suggested during a Awards Ceremony tonight.

Winners of Competition unveiled

The Competition territory once again shone a spotlight on initial and second-time underline film directors, with 11 films opposed for 9 accolades awarded by a jury and a Macao Audience Choice Award, voted for by internal audiences.

The 11 Competition films are “School’s Out”, “The Guilty”, “Clean up”, “The Good Girls”, “Ága”, “Scarborough”, “Suburban Birds”, “White Blood”, “All Good”, “Jesus” and “The Man Who Feels No Pain”.

Best Film: “Clean up” (presented by IFFAM Jury President Chen Kaige)

Jury Prize: “White Blood” (presented by IFFAM Jury member Danis Tanović and Artistic Director of IFFAM, Mike Goodridge)

Best Director: Gustav Möller, “The Guilty” (presented by Jury member for Local View Power, Phillip Noyce and IFFAM Ambassador Shekhar Kapur)

Best Actor Award: Jakob Cedergren, “The Guilty” (presented by IFFAM Jury member Tillotama Shome)

Best Actress Award: Aenne Schwarz, “All Good” (presented by Talent Ambassador Aaron Kwok)

Award for Best Technical Contribution: Kaloyan Bozhilov, cinematographer of “Ága” (presented by heading actor and singer of “Aruna Her Palate”, Oka Antara and Dian Sastrowardoyo)

Award for Best Screenplay: Barnaby Southcombe, screenwriter of “Scarborough” (presented by IFFAM Ambassador Xue Xiao Lu)

“New Chinese Cinema” boosts a lineup of films

The choice for a new foe section New Chinese Cinema was “Dear Ex”, “Baby”, “Xiao Mei”, “Up a Mountain”, “Fly by Night” and “The Pluto Moment”. “Up a Mountain” took home a Best New Chinese-language  Film of a Year. This year, 14 film entries of Local View Power were divided for 3 open screening sessions during IFFAM. In a prize-giving rite hold yesterday, “The Melancholy of Gods” by Lei Cheok Mei was presented with a Jury Prize for Best Film while “Halfway” by Ng Ka Lon perceived a Special Mention.
