Nicholas Saputra posts first-ever ‘Instaselfie’ to inspire immature electorate – The Jakarta Post

In a days heading adult to a 2019 elections, a series of actors and filmmakers called out to immature electorate to practice their domestic rights in a video published on Apr 12 as partial of a #YukMemilih (let’s vote) movement.

Dian Sastrowardoyo, Lukman Sardi, Sherina Munaf and Jefri Nichol were among the actors featured in a viral video. 

In a video, filmmaker Mira Lesmana tells viewers, “If we vote, Nicholas Saputra will post a selfie on his Instagram account.”

The video also features Nicholas, who says jokingly, “Why me? Jefri Nichols is [the improved choice].”

But staying loyal to a promise, Nicholas posted a selfie on Apr 17 after casting his ballot, holding adult his inked pinkie.

The heading reads: “All right.. Thank we to all friends for participating in a 2019 elections. Stay pacific and applaud democracy! PS: This post will be deleted in 24 hours”.

The actor is famous for his environmental activism and transport photography on Instagram. This is a initial time he has ever posted a selfie.

“It’s not a guarantee [I finished to my friends], we only wish people, generally a younger generation, to practice their right to vote. That’s because we was peaceful to do something we had never finished before,” Nicholas told The Jakarta Post around content message.

Asked how voting went in his neighborhood, Nicholas replied, “So far, so good.”

Fellow celebrities commented with apparent excitement on Nicholas’ selfie.

“This is ‘capturing Nico’s selfie’ for a world,” wrote actor Adinia Wirasti.

“Please don’t erase this,” commented musician Melly Goeslaw, while actor Lukman Sardi simply wrote, “History-making”.
